Charity sorry for the load of rubbish

A charity shop has apologised for leaving a bin overflowing with rubbish on a residential street over the weekend.

Oxfam's bin was left outside their back door on Clifton Street surrounded by rubbish, including bags full of books and children's toys which were unwanted charity donations.

Rosie Bryce, Manager of the Oxfam store on London Road, said "I do apologise. We are changing from a bookshop to a general charity shop so we are suddenly processing about ten times the number of donations.

"I am trying to get at least one other bin and more collections so the problem should be sorted within a month."

A new fashion range will be available at the Alderley Edge Oxfam shop from next month.

So a charity shop leaves donated books and toys out as general rubbish. How charming is that. I am shocked at this story. So clearly the manage thinks it's ok to just get rid of donations in this way. Why do people bother donating. Even if they are changing the shop to general charity it's a bit much to just throw things into the bin. What would be wrong with sending it all to another shop.

And if I put my bin out and it looked like this it would not be emptied and I would get some sort of complaint letter from the Council.
