New mast to be installed at Festival Hall

Plans have been approved to remove the existing 15m Vodafone radio base station from Alderley Edge Festival Hall and replace it with a 17.5m high dual user monopole radio base station.

Vodafone were served with notice to remove the existing ground based monopole from the Festival Hall as plans have been approved to build a new medical centre at the site.

In order to maintain their existing level of network coverage in the area, Vodafone sought approval to install a replacement dual user base station within the Festival Hall car park.

The proposed shareable monopole, which will be galvanised steel, will have future capacity to accommodate Telefonica should they require network coverage here in the future.

Ooh, that'll be nice - a 50 foot high galvanised steel structure in the car park...a bit like The Angel Of The North?

Being a mobile phone user I have no grounds to complain.

Perhaps they could fashion it in the shape of a giant garden fork in memory of the allotments that parish council want to concrete over?

Sadly it does not matter what any of you think. They are going to do it anyway.
