This year's Wilmslow Wells for Africa (WWfA) Gardens Day on Saturday, 28th June proved another resounding success.
Weather on the day was excellent and there was a larger than usual turnout to visit the 18 gardens on display across Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Mobberley and Mottram St Andrew.
In total the event raised over £20,200 which will be used to provide fresh water, hygiene and sanitation in some of the poorest areas of Africa.
Volunteers at the Wilmslow based charity have already started work on how best to use the funds raised and further information on this will be available in due course.
WWfA Gardens Day Chair Shan Bristow said "A wonderful community day made a truly memorable occasion for young and old. The result is as ever, due to magnificent teamwork by many, many volunteers.
"Thank you to all our supporters, gardeners, sponsors and volunteers who helped make the day such a success."
In its 41st year, WWfA has raised over £1.7m with over 99.3% going directly towards helping people on Africa.
