Alderley Edge Cricket Club’s Under 9’s enjoyed a very successful season with both of the club sides remaining undefeated throughout their respective zones of the Cheshire County Junior Cricket League.
Both had home semi finals in the knockout stages where Warrington and Romiley were beaten to set up a winner takes all battle at Moss Lane on Sunday morning.
A terrific game took place in front of a large crowd of watching parents and family members, with the Hedgehogs batting first and posting a competitive net score of 246, the Wizards in reply batted sensibly throughout and with a fantastically tense last over needed 2 runs to win off the last ball.
However, they could only manage a single, leaving the scores tied and both sides still unbeaten with the trophy shared. A terrific achievement for all the boys who have played.
