To celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Alderley Edge Parish Council are organising a 'Big Lunch Picnic' on Sunday 3rd June, which they would like all Alderley Edge traders and restaurants to become involved in and benefit from.
This community event is a street party on London Road, which will be closed to traffic for this special day, and will be based on the traditional idea of having a street party.The organisers will provide tables and entertainment, with people attending bringing their own food.
Cllr Melanie Connor said "There will be a fancy dress for children and many other activities, therefore any offer of help would be much appreciated.
"Could you help in some way? Provide entertainment, tables, etc? Offer special food for the event? Bring trade out onto the street and provide special Jubilee packages? The list is endless and we want to make this is an event that is relaxed, fun and all about the village and the Jubilee.
"We will be organising a meeting in March to bring ideas together and look forward to hearing from you."
