A bogus charity collector was arrested in Alderley Edge thanks to the diligence of a local Home Watch member.
A man was knocking on doors in the Alderley Edge area collecting for a charity on Thursday 26th January.
The woman contacted her Home Watch co-ordinator to advise her of this as she suspected that he could be a bogus collector.
Our Home Watch coordinator reported him this to the police and a man was subsequently arrested and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Jane Thirsk, Home Watch co-ordinator for the area, said: "What excellent work by one of our Home Watch colleagues !
"I hope that you will be inspired to report anyone who you think is suspicious to the police."
