A charity art auction has raised over £3000 for the RSPCA Greater Manchester Animal Hospital.

Collect Art auctioned a selection of works which had been donated by some of their stable of artists at their London Road gallery on Friday, 9th December.

Raffi Der H said "A massive thank you to everyone who attended, we raised £3,645 from the auction alone which was hosted brilliantly by John Stalker, unfortunately Adam Partridge was running late.

"All the paintings were donated by the artists who included Geoffrey Key, Malcolm Croft, Alan Knight, Chris Swann, Olivia Pilling, Judith Donaghy, Julie Vernon and Lawrie Henery."

The auction coincided with an exhibition of the largest known private collection of works by artist Arthur Delaney, a pupil of LS Lowry. The 59 paintings were lent to the gallery by bookmaking tycoon Selwyn Demmy, who is a regular donator to charities including the RSPCA.
