A new festive event starts in Alderley Edge this week, which will see the village decorated with 24 unique Christmas themed windows.
The 2011 Alderley Edge Adventure, organised by Knights solicitors, encourages families to walk around the village seeking the 24 days of advent and enter a fun competition.
Each window will be revealed on Thursday, 1st December, clearly displaying the number they represent and local artist Allie Pottinger has painted a festive map of Alderley Edge to assist families in their search.
Charles Jones, Senior Partner at Knights, said "Initial market research in and around Alderley Edge conducted by Knights LLP showed most businesses would be excited to participate in the Advent Window and the treasure hunt theme for the children made it a really nice experience.
"Any initiative designed to improve foot flow into the village has to be seen as positive. The take up has been brilliant, unfortunately not all those who wanted to participate have been able to do so due to the limited number of places."
Maps and entry forms can be downloaded here. Included is the list of 24 participating businesses with space alongside for children under 16 to write the number each shop is displaying in their window.
The competition ends at midnight on Sunday 18th December so families will have 18 days to complete the entry forms which can be posted through Knights letter box, at 28A London Road, for the chance to win a £50 voucher.
