First lady of Pilates to visit Alderley studio

Alderley Pilates Studio are welcoming the 'Queen of Pilates' to their studio to help them celebrate 10 years of teaching.

Jan and Peter Bowen have been teaching Pilates locally since 2001 and to celebrate their 10th anniversary they are pleased to welcome Lynne Robinson, founder of Body Control Pilates.

Lynne was at the forefront of creating the boom in Pilates in the UK and her name and image have become synonymous with Pilates. She has been described by The Observer as 'The First Lady of Pilates' and was joint author of 'Body Control The Pilates Way' which really launched Pilates in the UK. Lynne has featured in numerous books and DVDs, is joint author of 'The Pilates Bible' and is firmly established as the world's top-selling Pilates author and presenter - her books and videos have been sold in over thirty countries.

Her clients have included Hugh Grant, Pat Cash, Kyran Bracken, Liz Hurley, the England Cricket Team and, since 2009, Lynne has been working with Chelsea Football Club on a weekly basis.

Lynne, who has visited the studio before, said "I'm really pleased with the way that Jan and Peter Bowen have created a beautiful studio and built up their clientele. You can see how much the clients enjoy coming to the Studio. The caring and supportive teaching they receive is evident ,which is what Body Control Pilates is all about."

Lynne will be visiting the Alderley Pilates Studio on Friday, 28th October. She will be teaching a free class from 3pm to 4pm, then speaking about her experiences developing Pilates. Afterwards Lynne will be pleased to welcome Pilates enthusiasts to the studio, between 5pm and 6pm, when she will be happy to answer questions and sign copies of The Pilates Bible.

On Saturday, 29th October, Lynne will be running a workshop for teachers at the studio, as part of a programme of teacher development which has included workshops and courses with former members of the Royal Ballet and Ballet Rambert.
