The Alderley Edge Hockey Club have been shortlisted in the Cheshire East Club of the Year Category at the Cheshire East Sport Awards.

The event is being organised by the Cheshire East Council Leisure and Play Development Team on behalf of the Cheshire East Community Sports and Physical Activity Network.

To honour this achievement club members will join the judges at Congleton Town Hall on Monday 17th October, where the evening is being hosted by Mike Shaft, BBC Manchester presenter and British Basketball announcer, as well an experienced host of Sport Awards ceremonies.

The awards aim to recognise and honour the hard work of local volunteers, coaches, clubs and schools providing sporting opportunities across Cheshire East throughout the year. The annual awards evening is the council's way of recognising the people who dedicate their time to grass roots sport, and actively encourage healthy lifestyles of their local communities.

The winners and runners up will receive a trophy and will be invited to represent Cheshire East at the Cheshire and Warrington Sports Awards on Wednesday 16th November at Eaton Park, Chester.

Alderley Edge Hockey Club are invited to bring guests, so if you wish to attend please contact email Kelvin Briggs who will coordinate the Edge party. The cost will £7.50 a head.

Can Alderley add this prestigious award to the already won EHB ‘Club Of the Season’ Award?  It’s down to the judges!
