The Alderley Edge Conservative Party hosted an Ascot Ladies Day, complete with Royal enclosure on Thursday, 16th June.

The afternoon of racing was hosted at Brook Farm, the home of Peter and Yvonne Wrinch, where the Alderley Edge Conservatives enjoyed a luncheon of poached salmon followed by traditional strawberries and cream.

In addition to the horse racing a best ladies hat competition was held, the winners of which were Mary Scott, Judith Napper and Brigid O'Hagan.

Yvonne Wrinch said "We were absolutely thrilled with the event and the wonderful continued support shown. We can't wait to do it all again at our next party on 4th November when we will be hosting our annual China White ball, an evening of drinks and dancing at Brook Farm."

I was one of the lucky guests and I have to say it was one of the most exciting social functions I have attended. Started off with a Champagne reception, then a wonderful three course lunch either in the house or in the marquee. Champagne was flowing throughout the day whilst the "serious" Ascot fans bet on the races with the resident bookies. All the ladies looked superb and had gone to a great effort in achieving the "Ascot" look.
Well done everyone and thank you to Peter & Yvonne Wrinch for making your beautiful home available for this fantastic day.
