Police are asking residents to be vigilant following the discovery of fake raffle tickets in the village.
Earlier this month a couple of local of residents purchased tickets for a Summer Raffle in aid of Cheshire Colts JFC, which the seller claimed was a junior football team for disabled children.
The tickets were being sold door-to-door in Alderley Edge and the police are advising residents to check for registered charity identification before parting with any money.
Anyone approached by people selling fake raffle tickets should contact Wilmslow Neighbourhood Policing Unit on 0845 458 0000 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
