Alderley Edge School for Girls welcomed their School Governors in for 'Governors' Day' this week to experience a day in the life of an Alderley Edge School for Girls' pupil.

The School introduced the day having hosted a successful 'Grandparents' Day' last year which demonstrated how school life, teaching methods and facilities have changed and improved over the years.

Following attendance at a staff briefing, the Governors were split between the Early Years Department, Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form classes and joined girls at break and lunch time to watch a variety of clubs including the Junior School Brass Ensemble and one of the Senior School Dance Troupes practicing for their forthcoming showcase. They also joined the 'Page Turners' book club run by School Librarian, Mrs Ruth Wood.

As the school bell rang to signify the end of the day, the Governors enjoyed afternoon tea with staff before heading home from their busy day in school.

Mrs Susan Goff, Headmistress commented, "Our School Governors are heavily involved in all aspects of school life and we felt there was no better way for them to gain further insight than to spend the day in school with our girls."

Sister Catherine Joy, one of the school's newest Governors added, "I had a wonderful day in school, everyone was so welcoming and helpful. I spent most of my day with the Junior School and loved every minute of day, a particular highlight for me was the guided tour I had with the girls.

"On behalf of all the Governors, I'd like to thank Mrs Goff and Mr Groves for inviting us in to meet with the girls, we had an excellent day."
