Local chippy needs your votes

Foster's Fish and Chips have this week been crowned best chippy in the Wilmslow area.

The MEN have been running a competition across their local papers, asking for people to nominate their favourite chip shop by sending in a coupon.

Kath Foster, who has run the chip shop with her husband Gavin for 15 years, explained "The final three from the Wilmslow Express area were us, Jacksons in Wilmslow and the Big Fish on Summerfields. We all then had a mystery shopper come in and judge us who mentioned the fact that the food was fantastic and the shop was immaculate."

Fosters are now competing against the winners from the other MEN papers to be crowned the regions best chippy. The three chippy's who receive the most text votes will be chosen to attend a gala dinner at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival next month where the winner will be announced.

Kath said "We are genuinely made up to be recognised as the best shop in the area. We are so proud of the team, led by Fran the manager. We have obviously been very busy opening the new shop in Didsbury and for the staff to be recognised for maintaining our very high standards is a real coup for them.

"We've been in Alderley Edge now for 15 years and would like to ask our loyal customers to vote for us to win. The Express has quite a small readership in comparison to some of the other titles so we really need all the support we can get."

To support your local chippy and vote for Foster's Fish and Chips text COTY J to 82540 (leave a space between COTY and J) - voting closes at noon on Monday 4th Oct so people need to get voting now if they want our Alderley Edge chippy to win.
