A brand new Ducati motorbike worth £45,000 was stolen off the driveway of a house in Alderley Edge but the audacious thieves were foiled within hours of the theft being reported, as the motorbike was fitted with a Tracker stolen vehicle recovery system.

The bike was recovered on the Middlesex Road, Greater Manchester, where a man was arrested in connection with the theft.

Adrian Davenport, Tracker's Police Relationships Manager, said "We suspect that the motorbike was loaded into a waiting van to ensure a quick getaway. Many stolen motorbikes will be broken down into parts within hours and sold on for a quick profit.

"Last year alone Tracker recovered over £500,000 pounds worth of stolen motorcycles and scooters and works alongside the Police and other partners, including the Motorcycle Crime Reduction Group, to combat this type of crime."
