Four crews attend fire at building under construction in Alderley Edge

Firefighters were called to a fire on Alderley Edge just after midday today (Saturday, 25th January).

Four fire engines, from Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Cheadle and Wythenshawe, attended the blaze involving a two storey building in Moss Road at 12.10pm.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire and Rescue said "The fire involved works to a flat roof on a building which was under construction. Firefighters used one hose reel and breathing apparatus to put the fire out.

"They provided first aid to four casualties before they were handed in to the care of attending paramedics."

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
