Wilmslow-based furniture design expert, Dzintra Suste, has opened her first UK showroom in Stockport. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Saturday 18 January.
The business, known as BelCasa Concept, features an extensive range of home accessories, lighting and high-end furniture, together with fabrics, artworks and luxury gifts.
Dzintra first came to the UK in 2018 to represent Fascino, an international designer and manufacturer of bespoke, high-quality furniture. As an interiors specialist, she advised professional clients across the UK, developing striking designs to suit domestic and commercial spaces. However, as her project work expanded, so she began to see opportunities to diversify the brand. The result was BelCasa – a company that now serves homeowners and trade customers alike.
She launched the BelCasa website in 2023. Since then, she has been working to create a handsome three-storey showroom on the corner of Manchester Road and School Lane. The ground floor is devoted to furniture for the living room while the first floor focuses on bedrooms. On the top storey, visitors can browse additional furniture items, plus an array of hand-picked décor items such as clocks, mirrors, vases and other ornaments.
Explaining her product choices for BelCasa, Dzintra said: "My background is in bespoke furniture. That will certainly continue to be a big part of what we offer in the showroom, but we have expanded the range considerably. It includes selected furniture from other leading studios and designers: high-end chairs, sofas, beds, dining sets and so on. We've chosen all our suppliers based on their originality, quality, sustainability and range, and the result is a curated collection of some of the finest home décor available anywhere in Europe."
Some of the many brands and products available through BelCasa include Fascino (bespoke furniture), Domkapa (hand-made upholstery items), artworks by Karine Paronyanc, and luxurious scented candles from Cereria Mollá. In addition, the celebrated Portuguese brand Laskasas recently appointed BelCasa as Northern England distributor of its handmade furniture, upholstery and metalwork pieces.
The opening event featured a drinks reception and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It was attended by invited guests, local businesses and the showroom's first customers. A neighbouring business, Vino Buono, supported the event by providing drinks and Italian nibbles.
After the ceremony, Dzintra said: "I'm very grateful for everyone's support. It's been wonderful to welcome in our first customers, of course, but also to see how kind our neighbouring businesses have been. I'd like to thank all the clients, guests and businesses that attended."
The BelCasa showroom is open Wednesday to Saturday between 10am and 6pm, and on Sundays between 11am and 5pm. Customers can also visit on Mondays and Tuesdays by appointment. Those who cannot attend in person can find many of the same products available for order via the company's website: www.belcasa.co.uk.
