Alderley Edge Methodist Church are celebrating 20 years of lunchtime concerts.
Since the inaugural concert on Wednesday 13th October 2004, Alderley Edge Methodist Church has hosted 156 midweek lunchtime concerts and raised tens of thousands of pounds for a wide range of charities, culminating last season in a £1000 donation to Child Bereavement UK.
Jean Walker said "Shortly after our first concert, we were privileged to receive a baby grand, which widened the scope of the recitals we could offer. We are pleased that we have been able to provide a platform for the young musicians to share their incredible expertise.
"The quality of performance has been extremely high and we cannot begin to measure the pleasure, friendship and fellowship that has been developed over the years. Everyone's a winner, not least our loyal patrons!"
Jean added "Our very first concert in 2004 featured two organists from Chetham's School of Music, and so, for our celebration, we are delighted to welcome organ scholars
Eleanor and Theo, also from Chet's, to perform in a programme which includes Bach and Widor and promises to be a truly uplifting recital."
Admission to the concert is by programme, £8 available at the door.
The doors open at 12 noon for modestly-priced light lunches and the recital begins at 1.00 pm.
Everyone is welcome.
