Refurbishment works at Nether Alderley Parish Hall underway

The current refurbishment project at Nether Alderley Parish Hall which began in May is on target to be completed by mid November 2024.

Gifted to Nether Alderley Parish Council in 1908 by the then Lord Stanley the Parish Council have full responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the Hall and see this work as an opportunity to deliver a first class community facility for residents, friends and neighbours of Nether Alderley.

In addition to undertaking essential repairs to the fabric of the building, part of which dates from 1628, improving access for all has been the key driver for the project.

The works include creating a unified floor level through out the ground floor of the main hall along with the introduction of accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. Also the outdated and inefficient heating system is being replaced with underfloor heating.

Additionally, the first floor timbers of the old School House area of the Hall are being replaced to enable the creation of an additional meeting space on the first floor, with a new kitchen and improved storage facilities completing the programme of work.

NAPC Chair Lesley Gleave said "This project has been a long time in the making and owes much to the hard work and vision of councillors past and present to get us to this point . We have been lucky to have a great team helping to deliver the project and are look forward enormously to welcoming everyone back to the Hall very soon."
