A concert held at Alderley Edge Methodist Church has raised £1000 for East Cheshire Hospice.

The money was raised at the Arias & Arabesques concert at the Methodist Church last month, with performances from Opus 5 and The Alderley Edge Academy of Dance. It will go towards their work in children's bereavement and counselling support.

Carley Macey, Community & Events, Manager at East Cheshire Hospice, said "We are hugely grateful to Alderley Edge Methodist Church for choosing to support the Hospice and our Children and Young Person's Therapy services.

"This vital service offers young people experiencing bereavement or pre-bereavement time and space to explore their feelings, as well as help and support to develop resilience as they experience the loss of a loved one.

"Without the support of people and organisations like Alderley Edge Methodist Church in our community, these services simply couldn't exist, so our thanks and appreciation cannot be overstated."
