Cyclist seriously injured after colliding with pedestrian on London Road

A cyclist was taken to hospital having suffered serious injuries following a collision with a pedestrian in the village centre yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to reports of an incident outside Tesco Express at around 1.10pm on Saturday 14 October. North West Air Ambulance Charity were also called to the incident.

A police spokesperson said "Officers attended the scene and found that there had been a collision between a cyclist and a pedestrian.

"The cyclist a 60-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Salford Hospital. She remains in hospital at this time.

"The pedestrian did not sustain any serious injuries."
