A Wilmslow restaurant has been granted planning permission to expand into the neighbouring units.

Cibo on Green Lane has been given the go ahead to extend into the former Flame and Wok unit located next door, with part removal of the existing shop front, and into the former Mobitechs Phone repair shop in the Grove Arcade, with minor adaptation to the existing shop front.

The scheme also includes extending the ground floor retractable roof terrace onto the hardstanding in front of 5 Green Lane, replacing a private parking space.

Cheshire East Council has granted change of use from Retail to Class E Restaurant for the two properties.

In January 2021 the owners of Cibo were granted planning permission (planning reference 20/4353M) to combine 31 and 33 Grove Street into a single property and change the use from retail to enable them to open a restaurant which would trade independantly from Cibo.

The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 23/0648M.

I have heard previously that CIBA is trying to expand. Does that mean even more cars will trying to park outside this restaurant along the road outside of it, causing the road to be very congested at times. There is no parking anywhere for this restaurant anyway apart from public car parks, why does anyone think it is ok to expand without a car park.
