Start on site for new luxury homes as restoration of Lindow Moss gets underway

Promotional Feature

Award winning homebuilder, Bowdon Homes, has commenced the delivery of Lowood; 14 new luxury properties on land off Moor Lane in Wilmslow.

The four and five bedroom detached homes offer an unparalleled standard of luxury living and provide the dual benefits of a private countryside location whilst also being within easy reach of local amenities.

The development is surrounded by green belt and offers numerous rural walks through Mobberley and Wilmslow, and also to Styal and Quarry Bank Mill.

Neighbouring the site, through an area of attractive woodland, is Lindow Moss, one of the largest lowland peatlands in Cheshire and the subject of a major ecological and wildlife restoration project.

Lowood sits on a 4.5 acre site, naturally screened from Moor Lane by mature trees and shrubs. The site was formerly used to store peat and peat processing machinery but, following the cessation of peat extraction, planning was approved for homes with the land sale funding a comprehensive plan to return Lindow Moss to a natural habitat, and a valuable environmental and community asset.

An area of the restored wetland and heath habitat will be given over to low-level public access providing local residents, including those at Lowood, a peaceful and scenic space for walking and observing wildlife and natural vegetation.

Lowood will be divided into four clusters of homes with natural grasslands in between. Each cluster will be centred around a shared landscaped courtyard to encourage a sense of community and promote natural surveillance.

The homes are being constructed in part render and part charred timber with large expanses of glazing, preserving the contemporary intention of the design whilst connecting them to their attractive woodland setting.

Four different styles of home are being crafted, providing a choice of four or five bedrooms. Each will offer luxurious and versatile living spaces capable of accommodating growing families and multi-generational living. The homes will benefit from open plan living spaces, bedrooms with en suites and an exemplary specification, including SieMatic kitchens, Tissino bathrooms and future proof technology systems. Each home includes an integrated double garage with internal access to the home, encouraging a car-free aesthetic.

The first homes at Lowood will be available for occupation in early 2024. To find out more information and obtain a brochure visit the Bowdon Homes website .
