Reader's Letter: Renovated cast iron signposts

Lovely to see the two newly refurbished cast iron fingerposts at the junctions of Welsh Row/Congleton Road, and Artists Lane/Macclesfield Road.

They were very rusty, and generally in a neglected state, before being stripped back, cleaned and repainted by local builder and Nether Alderley resident, Geoff Beeby.

Now looking pristine, and an important part of our local heritage preserved.

I wonder if Parish Council might consider doing the same with the cast iron mileposts along Congleton Road in Nether Alderley?
