The Alderley Edge Charity Carol Nite is returning for its 40th outing after the enforced Covid break last year.

The ever popular event will take place on Sunday 19th December from 8pm at The Drum and Monkey, featuring live music from family and friends of the Carlton Ensemble.

From an impromptu start in 1981 at Number 15 Wine Bar, the event has become a village tradition, continuing to attract loyal locals and raising over £38,000 for local causes which are nominated by guests on the night.

Since the wine bar's 2008 closure, Alderley's Charity Carols have travelled round the village and been hosted by The Wizard, The Merlin, The Botanist, The Yard and The De Trafford Arms.

Tickets are £30 each, of which £12.50 is donated to charities, and include a three course dinner plus Gluhwein. Anyone just wishing to join in the singing can go along after 9.15pm and pay £10 at the door.

Call 01625583977 for tickets.
