In celebrating the achievements of our young people, the Headteacher of Wilmslow High School, Dr J Pullé commented "Today brings very well-deserved rewards for our Year 11 students collecting their GCSE and BTEC results.

"The past 15 months have presented us all with many varied challenges to overcome, but as is often the case, the most difficult of times brings out the very best in our school community, and Year 11 have certainly risen to the challenge and more.

"These grades have been achieved by young people having the resilience and agility to adapt well to unprecedented disruption to the rhythms and routines of school life and learning. In doing this, students have demonstrated the ability to spot and seize opportunities, have adopted an enterprising approach to solving unexpected problems and shown perseverance to see tasks through to completion.

"This generation should now feel confident with a huge amount of self-belief in taking the next step in their learning journey.  Their time at Wilmslow High School has given them a strong foundation on which to build; one which has supported their development as a young person of character.

"Alongside their results, the many varied wider experiences, friendships, successes and learning about how to overcome setbacks that they take from their compulsory school years, will help them make the very best of the opportunities and challenges that now lie ahead of them.

"On behalf of the teachers, the whole school staff and the Governors, I would like to wish our Year 11 students all the very best for their future choices and I hope that they flourish and thrive over the coming months and years."
