Local business Apex Doma, based on Chapel Lane in Wilmslow, have an ambitious goal of converting businesses and residents into going green.
EV cars are becoming much more popular - but with only a few EV points in Wilmslow and Alderley Edge and a huge increase in EV car charging, the local area is being left behind.
Business owners Adam Drinkwater and Ian Pownall have said "We are calling upon the businesses, the council and the EV owners of Wilmslow and Alderley Edge to get with the times. Post-pandemic, people are shopping online more. We need to make our local area more attractive to shoppers and drive green, no-emissions traffic to the local high street. We feel that EV car charging is the way to do this.
"We only have two car charging stations at Sainsbury's in Wilmslow with long wait times and prime places like the building next to Tesco are left empty with no business. It needs to improve and vacant businesses need a boost. We would like to see Wilmslow as a stopping point to charge up EV Cars. We feel this will increase business and revenue to local businesses, restaurants and shops - which is needed after such a hard year of reduced trading. It will also give a chance for unoccupied shop fronts to once again be occupied".
The vision that Apex Doma has is to see 30% of all car parking spaces in Wilmslow and Alderley Edge to have an EV car charging point.
Starting from humble roots locally as a sole trader business from their garage and a van, Apex Doma have grown to a team of 12 staff, becoming Which? Trusted traders. The ambition doesn't stop there; they have big ambitions to service Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and the rest of Cheshire with EV car charging for business and home.
If you are getting an EV car or want to offer EV car charging to your customers, Apex Doma offer a wide range of chargers for varying budgets. Each charger can also receive a £350 OZEV grant.*
