Three men arrested as motorcyclist dies following four-vehicle collision

A 34-year-old motorcyclist died following a four-vehicle collision in Handforth on Tuesday, 15th September.

The collision, involving two cars and two motorbikes, occurred shortly after 10pm on the southbound carriageway of the A34 Handforth Dean bypass.

The grey Audi RS3, the dark blue Audi R8, the black Suzuki GSXR motorbike and the blue Suzuki GSXR motorcycle are all believed to have collided near to the Handforth Dean shopping centre roundabout.

Sadly, the rider of the black Suzuki, a 34-year-old man from Bradford, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The rider of the blue Suzuki motorbike, a 32-year-old man believed to be from the Bradford area, was also injured; He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary, where his condition is described as stable.

The occupants of the cars, a 28-year-old man from Cheadle, a 29-year-old man from Bradford and a 23-year-old man from Bradford, are not believed to have been injured.

All three have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to get in touch.

Sergeant Andy Dennison said: "We are in the early stages of our investigation and enquiries are very much ongoing.

"Initial enquiries suggests that those involved in the collision were potentially travelling in convoy and we are keen to hear for anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the vehicles prior to the incident.

"The same goes for anyone with any video footage of which may aid the investigation."
