The long-awaited Wilmslow parking review, which also covers Alderley Edge, is apparently ready for publication and just waiting for a member of the Council's technical team to press the "appropriate button".
Back in 2018 Cheshire East Council commissioned a review to gather evidence and an understanding of the parking situation in Wilmslow. As a result of which 47 individual measures were recommended to ensure that parking capacity supports the long-term viability of Wilmslow.
Speaking at a meeting of the Full Council on Thursday, 20th February, Don Stockton, Ward Councillor for Lacey Green said "The first parking review was to take place in Wilmslow and is still on the face of it going on."
He added "I have been deluged with questions from residents in my ward, who having attended meetings and given their views over 12 months ago, have been expecting publication of this review.
"Councillor Craig Browne can you please give me and everyone with interest in this final publication when will it take place and when will the solutions proposed finally be implemented across Wilmslow?
Deputy Leader Cllr Craig Browne responded "I completely share your interest and frustration with this given that the parking review to which you refer also of course includes Alderley Edge within its remit.
"The latest information I have is that the final amends were being made and completed yesterday to the documentation and it is ready to now be published on the council's website pending a member of our technical team pressing the appropriate button."
I contacted Cheshire East Council yesterday to enquire when the Wilmslow Parking Review would be published and requesting further information, at the time of publication I am waiting a response.
