For the second year running Alderley Edge In Bloom have been awarded a Gold medal in the small town category at the awards ceremony held in Southport today (Friday, 1st November).

Additionally the team have picked up the 2019 Pride of East Cheshire award.

Chairman Leslie Cox said "We are tremendously proud to receive our second Gold and the Pride award.

"These honours are thanks to everyone in Alderley Edge who contributed to enhancing the village for the benefit of all.

"Very special thanks go to the Alderley Edge in Bloom volunteers, the Parish Council and the village businesses who have worked so very hard to make the village an attractive environment to live, work and do business.

"This award would not have been possible without their continued support and the support of all the residents who volunteer their time throughout the year."

Cllr Mike-Dudley Jones, Chairman of Alderley Edge Parish Council said "Many congratulations to the Alderley in Bloom Group for their second Gold Award and for being awarded the Pride of Cheshire East Award.

"A huge thank you on behalf of the Parish Council and all the residents of Alderley Edge for the endless hours of hard work that you all give freely. Our village looks well and I know we are all proud of that."

A marvellous achievement. I think everyone notices the results, and also the incessant hard work put in by the volunteers.

It has been a few yrs since I have seen the village looking so fantastic. At one time ALL the shop keepers did their own bit but since but since those days most have gone. I thank goodness we have the very very keen volunteers.
Best wishes and many many thanks to all concerned.

Many thanks to all the volunteers for all their hard work once again this year, out in all weather, planting and looking after the displays. Let us hope that we can continue to enjoy the village next year without mindless idiots spoiling things. In the meantime congratulations to all concerned.

I agree with you Roy but I have to say that it is not just the village. In Wood Gardens the volunteers and the Bloomers have started to rejuvenate the gardens YET! irresponsible dog owners regardless of the £1000 fine are walking through the gardens and allowing their animals to foul .Do these owners care about the environment? no they are disgusting people.
