Primary school children remember our fallen

The pupils of Alderley Edge Community Primary School have been remembering the Great war of 1914-1918 this week.

Children have been learning about the sacrifice made by so many over the years to help keep them safe and had a special assembly on Friday when they quietly reflected on those people who lost their lives in service.

Mrs Lindsey Walsh, Interim Head teacher, said "The whole school created the number 100 using the soldier as the one and two circles to represent the zeros. Children decorated the 100 using recycled plastic bottles, coloured red and then melted to create the petal shapes.

"This will be on display at St Philip's Church and the cenotaph this weekend and then will be reinstalled on the top playground next week."
