Firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a pub in Nether Alderley in the early hours of this morning.
One crew from Wilmslow and one from Macclesfield arrived just after midnight to discover a fire within the kitchen of The Wizard Inn on Macclesfield Road.
Wearing two breathing apparatus, the firefighters put out the fire using a hose reel jet and a covering jet before using a pressurised van to ventilate the property.
A spokesperson for The Wizard said "Unfortunately due to a fire in the kitchen in the early hours of this morning we will be shut for food until further notice. We will get the pub back up and running as soon as possible."
