Financial advisors plan to extend and refurbish Bank Chambers

A firm of independent financial advisors have applied to demolish part of the rear of Bank Chambers and build an extension at the rear of building over the existing flat roof.

Clarion Wealth Management have also applied to erect a terrace over existing car park area to the rear of building at 52 London Road which they own. The company intends to relocate their current offices from Knutsford to Alderley Edge to provide additional space for their staff and clients and to develop the company.

The plan is to restore, repair and retain the existing building to the London Road and George Street frontages and partially demolish elements of the first and second floors and roof to the rear. Then a new extension will be constructed to the first and second floors over the previous flat roof extension.

The extension will create larger open office areas, the existing building comprises a labyrinth of various sized rooms with numerous finished floor levels, and is quite modern in appearance with large window areas, to maximise natural lighting to office space.

Clarion Wealth Management were granted a change of use for 52A and 52B London Road, which are located above and below NatWest Bank, to create an office for financial and profession services (class A2) in May 2014. This part of the property had previously been used as a first floor office and a two bedroomed flat.

The planning application can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning references 15/1270M. The deadline for submitting comments is 30th April 2015 and a decision is expected by 20th May.
