Oboist kicks of 2015 lunchtime concerts

The first lunchtime concert of the new year at Alderley Edge Methodist Church takes place on Wednesday 21st January and will feature oboist, Amy Roberts, accompanied on the piano by Philip Sharp.

The programme includes pieces for oboe and piano by George Frederic Handel, Carl Nielsen, Francis Poulenc and Gyorgy Ranki. The recital will also include a Rachmaninov prelude for piano.

Amy Roberts is performing in Alderley Edge for the first time, but Philip Sharp is making his second appearance, having given a piano recital in November 2011. Both artists appear by kind permission of the Royal Northern College of Music.

The performance commences at 1pm and will last approximately 45 minutes. Light lunches, charged separately, are available from 12 noon.

Admission is by programme at the door, priced £4.00.

Proceeds from the concert will be donated to Action for Children.
