The Lions Youth Brass Bands will be performing at the Alderley Edge Festival Hall on Friday 6th June along with the N-Choir Ladies Harmony.
The Wilmslow & District Lions Club are hoping that the concert will be really well supported and have selected Manchester Children's Hospital and Teenage Cancer Trust as their chosen charities to assist 13 year old Lauren Wild who is currently undergoing treatment for Lymphoma at Manchester Children's Hospital.
Lauren has decided, with the help of her family and friends, to turn this negative into a huge positive and is aiming to raise £14,000 by her 14th birthday in July - at which point she hopes to have also have completed her treatment.
The Lions Youth Brass Band was formed in 1989, taking its name from the Lions clubs around South Cheshire, who agreed to sponsor the band through annual donations. The Wilmslow & District Lions Club are one of those clubs who sponsor the band.
It is through these donations that the Youth Brass Band quickly established themselves as a leading Youth Brass Band, with ages ranging from 4 to 19, spread across three bands.
Anna Bainbrigge said "This is one of many concerts which the band have lined up for this year and will be full of fun and entertainment."
She added "The Wilmslow & District Lions Club meet at the Drum & Monkey, Alderley Edge on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at 8 pm.
"We are always looking for new members to help us with our fund raising. Please come and join us and also enjoy the superb social side."
The concert will commence at 7.30pm on Friday 6th June. Tickets priced at £5 are available from Laurie Oatway on 0161 998 4009.
