Wilmslow bright sparks helped The King's School achieve record-breaking results in a bumper year at the Macclesfield school.
The stunning set of grades are the 'best ever' produced by what Head of Foundation Jason Slack described as 'a wonderful group of young adults.'
The results mean King's will inevitably climb even higher in the national academic league tables. An amazing 55% of all grades were A*/A; 83% were A* to B with half of all students gaining an A* in at least one subject.
Sophie Shephard, who got an A* in Geography with As in Biology and Psychology and will go up to Sheffield University to read Biomedical Science. Next to her is Alice Powell who got an A* in Business with two A grades in Chemistry and Biology and will read Medicine at Birmingham University.
Seven students achieved at least three A*s with six of the best pictured (rom left to right): Asher Raymon, got his clean sweep of A*s in Maths, Computer Science and Physics and will study Computer Science at Manchester University. Harry Shanahan, got three A* in Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science with an A in Physics. Harry, whose long term ambition is to help "change the world through technology', will also study Computer Science at Manchester University.
Another high-flying computer scientist is Annabel Hawkins, who got four A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science and Physics and will go up to Murray Edwards College, Cambridge University. Annabel also excelled to gain her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Zac Ransom, got his A*s in Business, Economics and Sport and will take a year out working at King's as a sports coach next year before heading to university.
Matthew Ennis, got his A*s in Psychology, Chemistry and Biology, and thanked "all my teachers." The accomplished rugby player will study Biomedical Science at Sheffield University. Talented actor and musician, Seb Fitzgerald, is bound for New College, Oxford University, to study Arabic and ultimately wants to work in international journalism. Seb got A*s in History, French and Spanish with an A in AS Drama.
King's Head, Jason Slack, said: "For this year group to gain the best A Level results in the school's history is a tremendous achievement and testament to their hard work and application.
"What is even more special is that they are a wonderful group of young adults who ably demonstrate the school's ethos of equipping young people with the character and skills necessary to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. I couldn't be more proud of their achievements, both academic and more generally."
