Alderley Edge Village Fete, one of the highlights in the village calendar, is being held at the Cricket Club on Sunday 30th June.

Attractions will include a fun dog show, chainsaw carving, vintage cars, falconry display, clay pigeon shooting and local artisan stalls. There will also be fair ground rides, a children's activity corner, music from local schools and a tug of war competition. Refreshments will include teas and cakes served by the WI, a Pimms stall, barbecue and bar.

Now in its 5th year, the fete will again be raising funds for Francis House Children's Hospice which provides respite care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

Volunteers from the charity will be putting on traditional games and activities including wellie throwing, face painting and cupcake making. There will also be a craft wall, made on the day by children from the village, that will be taken to the Hospice afterwards for everyone to enjoy.

Organiser Emma Bolton, of the Lavender tree said "We are now in our 5th year of this great community event and have chosen the hospice as our charity as it provides such amazing care and support for all of the children and their families."

Karen Flower, from Francis House said "There is always a fun family atmosphere at the fete, and it's fantastic that once again Francis House has been chosen as the charity to benefit. We hope lots of people will come along, have a great day out and show their support."

Last year proceeds from stalls at the fete and a raffle raised in excess of £1,100 for the charity. The Alderley Edge Village Fete opens at 1pm and there is an entry fee of £2 for adults, £1 for children and under 3's are free.
