Drains to be investigated at Windermere Drive

Part of Windermere Drive will be closed next week to enable Cheshire East Highways to carry out essential drainage investigation works.

The road will be closed from its junction with Chorley Hall Lane to its junction with Redesmere Drive, an area which floods after heavy rain then turns icy when the temperature drops.

Cllr Melanie Connor said "I am very pleased to see that Cheshire East are investigating the collapsing road and sewers at the end of Windermere Drive on to Chorley Hall Lane as I do think we might have some serious problems.

"I hope the works will stop the flooding and put the road surface back to a decent condition."

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents as far as possible.

It is anticipated that the works will be carried out from Monday 28th January until Friday 1st February.

If you have any enquiries relating to the works please contact Lynne Nixon on telephone number 03001235020.

This is long overdue. Lets hope the council remedy the situation especially for the sake of the residents of the house on the corner of Windermere Drive where flooding also occurs every time it rains.
