Alderley Edge School for Girls celebrates sensational GCSE results

Alderley Edge School for Girls is proud to announce an exceptional set of GCSE results, reflecting the dedication, resilience, and academic excellence of its pupils and staff.

This year, over one-third of all grades were 9-8, 56% of all grades were 9-7 and 82% of all grades were 9-6, which is a 10% increase from last year. 13% of all pupils received straight 9-7 Grades.

Pupils have achieved remarkable success across a broad range of subjects, with a significant number securing top grades. Among the highest achievers are:

• Hannah Crowley – 10 Grade 9s

• Ava Chaplin – 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 7s

• Millie-Rose Clayton – 6 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s

• Millie Thorp – 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s

• Joy Wong – 7 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 7s

• Harriet Gordon – 2 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s

We are delighted to celebrate outstanding subject-specific achievements across the curriculum. In Business Studies, an impressive 77% of all grades were awarded at 9–7, while Computing saw 66% of pupils achieving top marks. Design & Technology followed closely with 71% at grades 9–7, and Religion & Philosophy achieved 74% in the same range. The Sciences—Biology, Chemistry, and Physics—collectively recorded 69% of grades at 9–7. Notably, almost one third of all English Literature grades were at the exceptional 9–8 level.
