Lunchtime concerts return for 9th season

The next series of Lunchtime Concerts at Alderley Edge Methodist Church will commence for the 9th season next month.

Students from Chetham's School of Music in Manchester will perform the first of a new series of concerts on Wednesday 19th September.

Lunchtime Concerts will then be held on the third Wednesday of each month, with an exciting variety of instrumentalists scheduled for the season.

Since the first series began in October 2004, students from the prestigious Chetham's and Royal Northern College of Music, along with a number of free-lance musicians have performed over eight concert seasons.

Proceeds from the 2011-2012 concerts have enabled Alderley Edge Methodist Church to make donations to Christian Aid, St. Ann's Hospice, Hope 4 the World, Nordoff Robbins, Barnabus Manchester, Marie Curie Cancer Care Lawrence's Roundabout and the M.A.S.T Scanner Appeal.

A portion of the proceeds from the September concert will be donated to a project providign mosquto nets which is being delivered through Christian Aid.
