Jubilee coins for Alderley schoolchildren

Children from Alderley Edge have been presented with commemorative coins to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Councillors Mary Maczkowiak, Frank Keegan and Sue Joseph attended a Jubilee Street Party at Alderley Edge Community Primary School on Friday, 1st June.

At the party they presented each child with a specially engraved coin as a permanent reminder of this momentious occasion from the Alderley Edge Parish Council.

Cllr Sue Jospeh said "The party at Alderley Edge Primary School was a great success. The staff and parents had obviously all worked very hard to make this a memorable occasion with games, music and lots of party food.

Fortunately the weather stayed fine and was fairly warm for the children to enjoy their party in the school playground.

All schoolchildren who live and go to school in Alderley Edge will have received a coin as quantities were also delivered to The Ryleys and Alderley Edge School for Girls for those who live in the village.
