Schools come together for Children in Need concert

Alderley Edge Methodist Church will be hosting a special concert on Friday, November 18th, in support of Children in Need.

The concert will feature performances from local schools including Alderley Edge Community Primary, Alderley Edge School for Girls Junior School, The Ryleys, Alderley Edge Community Primary, Mottram St. Andrew Academy, Ashdene Primary and the Alderley District Scout Band.

Judy Povey, church secretary said "This Village event is one in which children are helping children, and the whole evening is one of fun, noise, excitement and enthusiasm.

"To be part of this, and to see the various schools doing their best, be it through choir, orchestra, or solo pieces, and generating such a wonderful atmosphere, is something very special.

"Add to that the bucket rattling, the selling of Children In Need balloons, and the many cakes and biscuits kindly donated by Mottram St.Andrew Academy, then Alderley Edge is certainly reaching out to give strong support to the Children In Need appeal."

All the money from this special concert will be sent to Children In Need and they are hoping to exceed last year's figure of £1318.20.

The concert starts at 6.30pm and will last about an hour and a half. Entrance is £3 and throughout the evening children will be coming round with collection buckets.
