The second phrase of refurbishment works at the Alderley Edge Scout Hut on Talbot Road is now complete.
The building, believed to be the oldest purpose built Scout Hut in the country, has been completely redecorated externally, a new wooden floor has been laid in the back room and a new fire alarm system has been installed.
This work was funded by a £5000 grant from the Alderley Edge Institute Trust and the Committee, which is a registered charity, spent a similar amount from their own funds.
The first phase of the work was completed in 2007-2008 when a new floor in the main hall, a new roof and kitchen were installed, thanks to a £50,000 grant from the Institute.
Alderley Edge Scout Hut, which costs about £10,000 to run, is used by the scouts, cubs, beavers, guides and brownies as well as a lot of other groups.
Treasure Ian Malcolmson said "There are a few things to do but we are almost finished. We now have nearly everything we want but it has taken 7 years.
"As a community hall we do alright but there is room to do more during the day and there is always the volunteer aspect, we are constantly trying to raise money so if anyone feels they can provide some sort of help we're always grateful."
Anyone interested in helping can email Ian Malcolmson, whilst anyone wishing to book the hall can do so by ringing Ann Shackleton on 01625 584461.
