Mottram Road will be closed tomorrow, Thursday June 2nd, to allow urgent road surface repairs to be carried out.
A diversion route will be set up via Wilmslow Old Road, Wilmslow Road and Hough Lane.
Simon Davies, Area Engineer at Cheshire East Council, said "The work will start at 9 am and should be completed within the day. If not, the road will be reopened overnight and the work finished on Friday morning.
"There is also a small amount of work to be carried out on Hough Lane which we hope to carry out on Friday."
