Alderley girls wowed parents and friends with two performances of their annual Senior School production this week, 'Oh, What a Lovely War!' The musical, which tells the story of World War 1, includes popular songs from the time – many of which were re-worded by soldiers serving on the front line.

The school was delighted to welcome several guests from the Belvedere and Cavendish Court care homes to enjoy the wartime performance. The visitors passed on their thanks to Mary Hostler, School Chaplain, for the kind invitation and also to Sixth Form girls Abi Gough, Leona Lock-Williams and Ayesha Anwar who looked after them during the evening.

Drama teacher Miss Clare Bonham who prepared the girls for the shows commented, "It is extremely hard work for the girls to rehearse for the show, continue performing in their school work and to ensure that homework and extra-curricular activities are kept up to date so I would like to say a big well done to all involved on the stage and behind the scenes. I look forward to working with the girls on next year's production!"
