The grounds of Capesthorne Hall in Siddington, just south of Alderley Edge, are to host Cheshire's first rock festival.
The Friends Of Mine Festival will take place from May 20th to May 22nd and is expected to attract a crowd of 10,000.
Over 50 artists are already confirmed to play at the festival including headline act The Charlatans, The Lightening Seeds, The Buzzcocks, The Wedding Present and Black Lips.
In addition to the musical entertainment on the main stage, the Big Top stage and the acoustic stage, there'll be a dedicated tent for stand-up comedy, spoken word and poetry. There will also be a cinema tent showing Manchester-centric movies Control and 24 Hour Party People plus a special screening of Mr Nice introduced by Howard Marks himself.
Food and drink on the site will be locally sourced and the Manchester Food & Drink Awards will be running 'Festaurant' - a fine dining area on site featuring sit down meals provided by some of Manchester's finest restaurants.
The event is being organised by Sam Gardner, 30, who grew up in Macclesfield and currently lives on the Capesthorne Estate. Talking about why he felt Cheshire needed a rock festival he said "It's a beautiful county that I know and love, and it's a stone's throw from the music capital of the universe so it was a no brainer."
He chose Capesthorne as the venue because it's "just a magical place and was the top of our list of ten locations. We went to them first and they said yes."
