Volunteers required as allotment shop reopens

The Alderley Edge Allotments and Gardens Society will be re-opening their shop on Saturday, February 5th.

The shop is located on the Chorley Hall Lane allotment site and will be open on Saturdays between 1.30pm and 3.30pm until the end of July. The shop is open to members only, however anyone can join the Society for £1 a year, which can be paid on your first visit to the shop.

They will be selling a broad range of products including: seed potatoes, onion sets, canes, string, gloves, seed trays, grow bags, netting, fleece and vegetable seeds.

Fenton Simpson said "There is loads of knowledge to be gained by asking questions of the shop staff about any problems you might have growing your own - you won't get a blank look from a teenager working their Saturday job like you do in a lot of the big garden centres."

The Alderley Edge Allotments and Gardens Society are looking for volunteers to help run the shop, please email Fenton Simpson if you are interested in getting involved.

Visit the Alderley Edge Allotment and Gardens Society website for further information about them and the three allotment sites in Alderley Edge, or call Fenton Simpson on 07920055514.

Please note that not all stock items are available in February due to the cold weather. Come have a look anyway!
