Renowned bookmaking magnate and local entrepreneur Selwyn Demmy will add a little extra luxury to the wedding plans of a Bride-of-the-Year competition winner.
The businessman, well-known for his heart of gold, has offered his chauffeur driven Rolls Royce for the wedding ceremony at Capesthorne Hall and reception at its new Pavilion.
Mr Demmy, who hit the headlines earlier this year after he auctioned off his private collection of Lowry paintings at the hall to raise £5m for the RSPCA, will make sure bride to be Debbie Woodward travels in style to the wedding.
He commented: "My heart goes out to anyone who loses their job in this economic climate so I am only too glad to help out this couple and I am sure they will have the most memorable day.
"I am pleased to be associated with Capesthorne, it is a stunning venue and a well established family run estate, recognized as one of the finest stately homes in the North West."
Debbie and her fiancé David Amess had to put their marriage plans on hold earlier this year when he was made redundant from his job as a floor and wall tiler but now the pair can look forward to a fairytale wedding day at the stately home after she won Bride of the Year 2010.
As winner of the competition mum-of-two Debbie, aged 47, receives a £20,000 wedding package which includes her bridal gown, hair stylist, wedding planner, flowers, wedding cars, photographer, entertainment and catering in the newly-opened Capesthorne Pavilion.
Thrilled Debbie was one of more than 500 hopefuls to enter the contest where brides selected the correct name for Capesthorne Hall's new wedding venue before a winner was drawn randomly.
This week the pair were welcomed to the privately-owned hall to meet the Bromley-Davenport family who took them on a tour of their 17th home where their civil marriage ceremony will be held in August.
Nick Bromley Davenport said: "We were overwhelmed by the hundreds of entries we received from all over the UK and delighted that such a deserving couple have won the prize."
