Two pupils from The Ryleys School have been selected to represent the Northern team in the Prep School Barbarians rugby championships later this month.

Following trials at Sedbergh School, Ollie Kenny from Year 8 and Ben Fleming from Year 6 will play in a match against the Midlands at the end of November at Worksop College. This was the first part of a selection process that could lead to the boys representing the full Prep School Barbarian team on tours to South Africa or Ireland at Easter. The boys acquitted themselves well against some of the best prep school players in the North.

Ollie, who also plays for Macclesfield Rugby Club, has been selected for the Under 13 side at fullback where his strong running and tackling impressed the selectors whilst Ben, who plays for Wilmslow Rugby Club, has been selected at wing for the Under 11's, the selectors being impressed with his speed and agility.

The Ryleys Head of Sport, Paul Jakubowski, coach to the North's U13 team commented "All of the boys demonstrated great skill, commitment and a positive approach to the selection process and should be pleased with their efforts".
