Last week we reported that Foster's Fish and Chips had been crowned the best chippy in the Wilmslow area and we urged our readers to vote for their local chippy in the regional finals. We are therefore really pleased to report that Foster's have reached the final three.
Kath Foster, who with her husband Gavin, has run the chip shop for 15 years, told us "We are absolutely delighted to be in the final 3, thanks so much to everybody who took the time out to vote for us. It's a real honour as this has been voted for by the general public and obviously they are the judges who really matter.
"We have now been invited to a gala dinner at the Beetham Tower Hilton on Monday. This is the grand finale of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival, which has been running over the last week or so, where there is an awards ceremony celebrating all that is great about food and drink in the Manchester region. There will be awards for all sorts of catergories including best restaurant, best bar, best chef and one of which is Best Chippy!"
Kath added "We are up against The Langley Friery from Middleton and Tony's Stadium Chippy at Eastlands. It will mean the world if we win it and again just a big thank you to all of our lovely customers!"
The competition is all done and dusted so there are no more votes. The winner is already decided and will be the chip shop which received the most text votes last week - so hopefully enough alderleyedge.com readers supported our village chippy and with other voters helped them go all the way to be crowned best regional chippy.
